Area - Compound Shapes

Everyone found compound shapes tricky today for calculating area.
Try and find the area of the shaded section of the shape.  All shaded pathways are 3m wide.
We had about 45 incorrect answers before Kate's group got it right.

    You're meant to get it right after 45 attempts, not after one.
